Taking It Easy…

So, either I’m getting old, working to hard or both. Found out last week that I have an Extensor Tendon partial tear, AND a Radial Collateral ligament tear. I’m in lots of pain because my cortisone shot I had a while back has worn off. I see a hand surgeon today. I hope it’s not bad. That being said, I will be working on small art projects that don’t require tons of maneuvering or lifting. Wish me luck that I don’t need surgery.

Finally Accomplished

The two Colorstretch paintings I have been working on are finally hanging at Agrodolce Restaurant! They look great, the color scheme I wanted to create is a great combination for where they hang in the restaurant. They are directly over the bar, along with a red Colorstretch that has been there for a while. White on Black #1 & Black on White # 2. They are the largest I have ever created. Lots of time, paint, and hard work went in to making these.

All three of my techniques are represented now at Agrodolce. I have 12 paintings on display indefinitely. I’m honored to be a part of Maria Hines restaurant. Stop by and have delicious certified organic Sicilian cuisine along with a cocktail. Bon Appetite!

Here We Go, 2014 Will Be Great

So looking back on 2013, It was an amazing year for my art. I sold more paintings in 2013 then ever before in the nine years that I have been painting. I had several commissions, which were very fun to create, as well as being learning experiences for me. I have all new flower paintings for the new year at Agrodolce Restaurant in Fremont. The technique has evolved over the year, I’m really pleased with them. I opened Colorspace studio, which doubles as a workspace/showroom. I love being at Inscape Arts. December was the first artist open house I was able to be apart of. It was a great day, lots of friends showed up, sold some work, and met new people. It was so great to see the public come through the doors and see the collective energy that is Inscape. I wanted to end the year with two new Colorstretch paintings for the bar at Agrodolce. They are the largest of that technique to date. They are big, beautiful and bold. Someone though, inquired about purchasing them so… I am now making four more. Two for Agrodolce, and two more for their replacements, because I am thinking people will really like them. So, that being said, I will have them up by the end of this month, I swear!!

I think 2014 will be a great year. My art will be hanging at Broadcast Coffee on Bellevue Ave in Capitol Hill in August and September. Art classes are in order too. Not sure yet what I will be taking. Maybe stained glass, stone carving, or encaustic painting. We shall see.

To all, I hope 2014 is a splendid year for you!

New Work On The Way

This is kind of a pinnacle of my Colorstretch technique. I will be creating five Colorstretch pieces that are 36″x48″, the largest ever. This is really exciting. Two will be chosen and will be hung at Agrodolce Restaurant in Fremont, Wa. The vision is Black on White/White on Black and vice versa. Two of each of those combinations will be made. The fifth is a piece, that if it works, will solidify a reference made about my art. It will be quite the challenge and much fun, creating these fantastical eye-flow paintings which I call Colorstretch.

Two New Paintings For Agrodolce

It has been a year since I made five 36″x48″ and two 48″x60″ flower paintings. All are numbered one. Over the year, two have sold off the wall. Yellow Flowers#1 and Red Flowers #1. They were replaced by number #2 of each Red and Yellow.

This year has been marked with lots of ups and downs–it will end with me hanging 3 new flower paintings to round out the numbers to be all #2. It will certainly be refreshing to have a whole wall of new paintings for the new year! Currently Blue and Green #2 are drying and will be able to be seen in my studio for the open house. I will have four on display. Then Blue and Green will be moved to Agrodolce the following week, unless they sell on the 8th of December. Then #3 will be made!

I am very pleased with how my technique has evolved over the year. They are the most highly textured paintings I have ever created. They are fun and beautiful to gaze at. Please come to my open house to see the latest in my creations!

One More Week…

Only one more week till the open house at Inscape Arts. Come and see many talented artists (over 50) at the wonderful and historic INS and Assay Building. This is a great way for local artists to show off their wares to the public!

This happens every quarter, and is the final showcase of 2013. I will have most of my art at my studio, plus many smaller pieces that are perfect for gifts. I will be painting everyday till the show! Super excited for this day.
