Yellow Flowers #4, For Agrodolce

It’s been a while since I have painted a yellow flower painting. It’s been so long, that the 3 that were made, didn’t have peaks. (Peaks equal highly textured abstract paintings) I wasn’t using a certain medium when those were painted. This is a sneak peek at Yellow Flowers #4,it’s still drying…. Next is Purple Flowers #2
Spring is here!!!

Flower Commission

I’ve been commissioned to create an efflorescence painting, and the dimensions are 24″ x 48 “. I created a palate board for them to choose their colors for the piece. They chose over 30 colors, primarily focusing on yellows, oranges and reds, with other colors sprinkled in. The end result was perfect. Peaks and all! Very warm and bright.

Reflecting

Last year this time I could not WAIT till it was 2014. It (2013) was one of the most challenging years of my life. Now that 2014 is on its way out, I want to say that this year was amazing.
I donated a painting that was auctioned off at the Tuxes and Tails black tie event for Seattle Humane Society. I have had several commissions, one of which led me to expand on a technique that I will be doing more of in 2015. I have my art on indefinite display at another restaurant here in Seattle (Golden Beetle) and I had a nice show at Broadcast Coffee in summer as well.
Having my studio at Inscape Arts is awesome, I feel the creative energy there and I love being a part of such an important community here in Seattle. So, here’s to the end of 2014 and welcoming an amazing, bright, productive. creative, 2015!

Website Updated

It’s been a while since I have posted. I took some much-needed time away after the Golden Beetle project. I went to La Push, Wa. to do my favorite thing, clear the beaches of trash. I took my mother there, it was her first time. We had a nice four days away. Once back in town I started on a commission that I am currently in the middle of. My first Colorstretch commission, it turned out really nice. I will be posting pictures once all completed. Now, over the past weekend I updated my website and added a new gallery, “Piecemeal.” I am really pleased with how it looks. I have a very cool thing coming up next week! I can’t say, pictures to come…

Golden Beetle Project Done!

After two months of working on this project, I am finally done and the paintings are hanging in their new home! They took about 160 hours to complete. That is a full month of work. There are about 120 individual sections on 36sf of surfaces. They will be there at Golden Beetle indefinitely. This project helped me solidify a new technique. It was challenging at times, I was frustrated several times as well. But after all is said and done I am very pleased. So as of now I have paintings in two Seattle restaurants! Stop by Golden Beetle in Ballard and Agrodolce in Fremont to eat YUMMY organic cuisine and check out beautiful art!
