Painted yesterday, excited to see it, but as with all my flower paintings I say away from them for three days. It needs to dry and not have me obsessing over it. It’s easy to do….pictures to come in a couple of days!

Getting Busy
Now that their are fewer paintings on the wall in my studio I am inspired to fill those spaces. I took the day off tomorrow, so I can go paint shopping which will allow me more time this weekend to focus on just painting. I am buying paint to create three new flower paintings. They will be red, purple and blue. These paintings, when finished will reside for the remainder of the hang at Gethsemane Lutheran. Also, another reason is to have additional paintings as backups for when I sell paintings at Agrodolce. Really excited…I’ll post pix next week.
Pictures from G.L.C Hang
The install went perfect. The paintings are suspended from wires which made it the easiest hang ever! A big thank you to my Mom, Matt, and Kari for helping!!! Now I have a whole wall empty in my studio. Which is great, so I can start making more art. Three new flower paintings will be painted before month’s end!
Facing the Other Way…
I am currently reading a book about the record label 4AD. Twenty-nine years ago this fall, I was introduced to a whole new world of obscure music, which includes my favorite bands of all time: Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, and This Mortal Coil. It is a great read because it puts into perspective the germination of this unique and much celebrated music label. Not all people know this label or the bands on it, but many of the people I have met, or have gravitated to in my life do like or know of this label. It changed my LIFE, not only have my favorite bands inadvertently been there for me through thick and thin, elated or very sad moments in my life, I always find solace in the music. It is also the music I enjoy playing while I create my art. If the bands only knew who much they mean to me… I thank Ivo Watts-Russell for creating a music label that has changed the life of so many people.

Twenty five years ago I was first tattooed. I always knew I wanted 4AD tattooed somewhere on my body. Here it is! Earlier this year I was able to finally get it done… What a beautiful tattoo, that I am thrilled to have!
Art Show at G.L.C.
I was invited to hang my abstract flower paintings at Gethsemane Lutheran. It is located in downtown Seattle at 911 Stewart St., on the corners of 9th Ave. & Stewart St. This show will hang for three months. It can be viewed on Sundays between 10am-1230pm weekly. By using the link above, one can see other events that the church is holding, where you can see the art. Pictures of the hang will be in a new post later today. It is a beautiful location to showcase six of my paintings. There will be five, 36″ x 48″, and one, 24″ x 48″ on display. Thank you to Kari and Joanne for this opportunity to be a part of their space.
Commission Completed

The commission being so large, 48″ x 60″, was painted and sprayed at my second studio. The sides were painted at Inscspe along with installing the hardware. Here is me renting a van, moving it from one studio to the next. It’s a big piece, only four so far, that size… I will formally add it to my Efflorescence gallery this week!
Today
Large Commission in the Works
I have been asked to create a large painting that measures 48″ x 60″… This will be the fourth one that I have painted that large. One was a commission as well, and two reside at Agrodolce restaurant in Fremont. I painted it two weeks ago and it’s almost dry. Next week I seal the surface, rent a van to transport it to Inscape, so I can finish the sides and string it. Pictures to come!
Open House
Today was the first open house of the year. Instead of four, one every quarter, it was decided to just have two, summer and winter. It was a beautiful day today and still had a fair amount of people coming by check out local artists! Most everyone I asked, it was their first time there, so that’s great news. It’s fitting that Inscape and The Wing Luke partnered to make Inscape it’s own “exhibit”. So much history in that space, now it a sanctuary for creation. So honored to be apart of the community. Thanks to my mom and friends for coming by, saying hi and hanging out. December’s date not chosen yet, will announce when it is!
Finally Hung
Two new flower paintings were hung yesterday at Agrodolce. I lost one of my studio spaces where I sprayed my paintings, so the two were patiently waiting to get their seal coat applied. I now have a brand NEW second studio that I can do work in that I can’t do at Inscape. The new paintings are Yellow Flowers #4 and Purple Flowers #2. They are beautiful and ready for spring! I will be painting another Blue and Red Flower soon with in the next month and a half they will be ready!
