I have been asked to have the three paintings for Golden Beetle by Thanksgiving. I have started on the third painting, over a third done. I also painted the first coat of three that I do on the sides. I will be in my studio daily till they are done. Here is a detail of the third one…

Two Done…
I have completed two of the three paintings that I am doing for Golden Beetle Restaurant in Ballard. The colors chosen were reminiscent of the theme of the restaurant which is Middle Eastern. The two that I completed are on the redder, yellowish, metallic side whereas the middle one will focus on blue and greens which will pull out the blues and metallics in mosaic covered wood fired oven in the kitchen. The oven is very beautiful. I will include pictures of that in a post next week. There are 77 sections between the two, 26 days painting over 60+ hours. I have one more month to finish all three. I will also be making business cards using images of each painting…
Paintings For Golden Beetle
I have not posted in a while, due to working on 3 paintings that Maria Hines, owner of Golden Beetle asked me to create. Initally it was to be three Colorstretch paintings, but then it was decided to create three using my piecemeal technique. I have only created one piecemeal to date, now I am making three. This is quite the endeavour. I will be posting pictures here soon. They are 36 x 48, so that is 36 SF of surfaces I need to paint. I anticipate them being finished by mid-November.

Today marks my fourth open house here at Inscape. October 1st will be my one year anniversary. How time flies. I am so glad that I am here at Inscape and belong to such a great community of local artists. Looking forward to another great year here!

Art At Broadcast Coffee
Yesterday my art was hung at Broadcast Coffee. With the help of my mother and my friend Matt, we hung 12 pieces. Two Colorstretch, two efflorescence, four framed pieces, and four Colorspace paintings. I am very pleased. It looks great! It will be there for two months.
August 14th will be the opening. It is during the Capitol Hill Art Walk, which is the second Thursday of every month. Come out and check out local artists! It is from 5-8…

Colorstretch Commission On The Way
I have been asked by Maria Hines to create Colorstretch paintings for her second restaurant Golden Beetle, in Ballard. I of course said yes. I will be going there this weekend for inspiration, pictures, and color themes. She said she would like 5 big canvases. Wow is all I can say. This will be a lot of work and tons of paint. Each one can have up to two+ gallons of paint! More on this later. I need to get ready for the Broadcast Coffee show next week! Busy busy…
